Dewclaw
Dewclaw adalah jari – vestigial yang terdapat pada kaki hewan yaitu: mamalia, burung, reptil (termasuk beberapa ordo yang telah punah seperti beberapa theropoda tertentu). Dewclaw terletak lebih tinggi dari jari-jari utama, sehingga pada spesies digitigrade atau unguligrade, dewclaw tak akan bersentuhan dengan tanah ketika mereka berdiri. Pada kucing dan anjing, dewclaw berada di sisi dalam kaki depan. Ini mirip dengan posisi ibu jari manusia, yang memiliki hubungan evolusioner (homologi) yang sama.[1] Walaupun banyak hewan yang memiliki dewclaw, beberapa lainnya tidak, yakni: iganyana, jerapah, dan kuda.
