Jayati Ghosh

Jayati Ghosh lahir pada tanggal 16 September 1955 di India. Jayati merupakan seorang ekonom pembangunan juga seorang dosen di Universitas Jawaharlal Nehru, New Delhi. Jayati mengajar selama 35 tahun, serta sejak Januari 2021 sudah menjadi seorang Profesor Ekonomi di University of Massachusetts Amherst, Amerika Serikat.[1]

Kehidupan awal

Jayati Ghosh lahir pada 16 September 1955.  Ghosh kuliah di Miranda House, Universitas Delhi untuk sarjananya dan mendapat gelar MA di bidang ekonomi dari Universitas Jawaharlal Nehru. Ia bergabung dengan Universitas Cambridge untuk gelar MPhil dan PhD setelah memenangkan Beasiswa Inlaks.  Tesis doktoralnya tahun 1984 di Universitas Cambridge berjudul The Non capitalist Land Rent: Theories and the Case of North India di bawah bimbingan Dr. Terence J. Byres, Geoffrey C. Harcourt dan Suzanne Paine.[2]
