Scutigerella adalah sebuah genus symphyla dari famili Scutigerellidae.[1][2][3] Kelompok ini setidaknya mencakup 35 spesies, menjadikannya sebagai genus terbesar kedua dalam familinya.[1][2][4] Genus ini memiliki persebaran subkosmopolitan.[4][5][6] Scutigerella sebagai genus pertama kali diusulkan pada 1882 oleh zoolog Amerika John A. Ryder, yang juga menjadikan Scutigerella immaculata sebagai spesies tipenya.[7]

Deskripsi

Spesies dalam genus ini dapat memiliki variasi ukuran antara panjang 3.5 hingga 9 mm.[8] Kepala genus ini berbentuk mirip hati dengan dua lobus pada tepi posteriornya.[6] Spirakelnya terbuka di permukaan tiap sisi kepalanya. Antenanya memiliki 20-50 segmen dan dua jenis seta, salah satunya lebih tebal dari yang satunya lagi.[5]
