Lo toponimoBeceit ye d'orichen arabe; s'ha quiesto remontar a un hipotetico Bu-Zeit, pero que no se refiere a lo historico Zeit Abu Zeit, que vivió bel anyo dimpués de la reconquiesta de Beceit. En lo Fogache de 1495 s'escribe Vezeyt.
