Biga

Una biga[1][nota 1] (de o latín < bīga) ye un elemento de construcción destinau a soportar esfuerzos de flexión y que presenta, por un regular, una dimensión mas gran que as atras: en cheneral a lonchitut.

En aragonés, as bigas tienen nombres diferents seguntes a función que faigan en a estructura. As bigas costaleras u costalers son as que soportan a mayoría d'o peso d'una superficie, como puede estar o suelo d'una cambra, u una versant d'un tellau. Os fustes son bigas de grans dimensions que de regular fan de nudo a on que s'aposentan as diferents bigas (costau interior de l'auguabatient d'un tellau, intersección de diferents costalers, etc.), de forma que gosan estar as que mas esfuerzo aguantan y s'adedican a transmitir-lo directament contra la frontera u bel pilar de l'edificio. Os cuairons sirven ta dar soporte (fan de cabecero) a la frontera en a parte superior d'as oberturas a l'exterior (puertas y finestras), etc.
