Oxicheno (O), ixufre (S), selenio (Se) y telurio (Te)

Os calcochenos son os elementos d'o grupo 16 tabla periodica:

Os suyos compuestos, mas que mas os sulfuros, seleniuros y teluros, se dicen colectivament calcochenidos. O nombre calcocheno viene d'o griego, y quiere decir formador de menas

L'oxicheno, o ixufre y o selenio son no metals, mientres que o telurio y polonio son metaloides. Cal parar cuenta que selenio y telurio se troban en a muga entre os dos grupos.

O estau d'oxidación mas habitual d'os calcochenos ye -2 en os calcochenidos, encara que tamién pueden tener valors de -1. O estau d'oxidación mas alto ye +6, y se da en sulfatos, selenatos y teluratos (por eixemplo, Na2SO4)
