A parola ceca proviene de l'arabe sikka, que ye a falca que s'emplega ta cudir as monedas. Una falca ye molde feito de metal duro con a mesma forma que a moneda pero en negativo que se fa servir ta cudir a moneda, ye decir, transmitir por meyo de presión, a forma y relieve fendo-ie a imprenta.
