Colunga ye un concello d'a comunidat autonoma uniprovincial asturiana, situau en a comarca d'Oriente y partiu chudicial de Villaviciosa. A suya capital ye la villa de Colunga, en a parroquia homonima.
A suya población ye de 3.735 habitants (2011) en una superficie de 97,57 km², con una densidat de población de 38,28 hab/km².
Toponimia
Existe la hipotesi que lo fa derivar d'o latín COLONICA, casa de "colono".
Luengas y parlas
En Colunga se charra l'astur-leyonés, en grau abanzau de substitución por part de l'idioma castellano. A parla astur-leyonesa de Colunga se clasifica en l'astur-leyonés central, a on s'incluye l'asturiano central y belas parlas d'o norte de Leyón.
