K2 (en China oficialment: Qogir 乔戈里峰) ye, con 8.610 metros d'altaria, a segunda montanya mas alta d'a Tierra, dimpués de l'Everest (con 8.849 metros d'altaria),[1] fendo asinas parte d'as montanyas clamadas ueitomils. Se troba en a cordelera de l'Himalaya, en a buega entre Pakistán y China.

O nombre Chogori, derivau de dos parolas balti, chhogo ཆོ་གྷའོ་ ("gran") y ri རི ("montanya") ha estau sucheriu como un nombre local, manimenos a evidencia d'o suyo emplego cheneralizau ye radiu. Puede haber estau un nombre compuesto inventau per exploradors occidentals.[2]

A primera puyada rechistrada a la suya tuca estió feita en 1954 per os italianos Lino Lacedelli y Achille Compagnoni.
