Ahunui, Fanga-taufa, o Nga-taumanga[1] ye un atolón de les islles Tuamotu, na Polinesia Francesa, incluyíu na comuña de Hao. Ta asitiáu a 950 km al sureste de Tahití, 55 km al sureste del atolón de Paraoa y 120 km suroeste de Vairaatea.

Nun disp'on d'infraestructures y lleva muncho tiempu despobláu. Ye una reserva natural d'aves. Nes sos sableres atópense pequeñes ostres (Pinctada maculata), con unes pequeñes perlles naturales llamaes poe pipi.

Historia

Foi afayáu en 1826 pol marín de la Royal Navy y xeógrafu inglés Frederick William Beechey. Beechey dirixía una espedición del Almirantalgu en busca del Pasu del Noroeste dende la mariña oriental (1825-28) y dirixíase al Pacíficu Norte. Ye unu de los 23 atolones qu'esploró Beechey nel archipiélagu y llamólu Byam Martin Island.[2]
