Aixama

Aixames.
"Rodando" aixames en Relleu, Alacant.

Una aixama ye una especie d'antorcha. Tradicionalmente fíxose combinando l'espartu verde con otru más secu, a pesar de que tamién pueden utilizase otres yerbes para formar el cuerpu.

L'oxetivu d'esta antorcha ye ser quemada la nuechebona o pela tarde. Esta aición ye conocida como «Rodar les Aixames». Anguaño esta tradición caltién viva en Relleu (Marina Baixa), Xixona y La Torre de les Maçanes (l'Alacantí), Tibi (l'Alcoià) y n'Onil (l'Alcoià) anque equí recibe'l nome de fatxo.

Piénsase qu'esta aición de rodar les aixames nes fiestes de navidá yera una especie de ritual pero anguaño desconozse de manera cierta'l motivu o cualesquier otru de los aspeutos que significaba'l llamáu ritual de «Rodar les Aixames».
