L'altitú ye la distancia vertical d'un oxetu dende un puntu orixe de referencia, consideráu como nivel cero, pal que se suel tomar el nivel absolutu del mar.[1]

Na aviación, el términu altitú describe la elevación sobre'l nivel mediu del mar, frente a la altura que se refier a la elevación sobre un puntu de referencia de la superficie; y el nivel de vuelu que ye la elevación según la presión estándar midida con un altímetru.

N'Europa continental, cuasi toa Iberoamérica y notres fasteres del mundu l'altitú mídese en metros. N'América del Norte y el Reinu Xuníu úsase'l pie. N'aviación, utilícense los pies en tol mundu.
