Biota

El términu biota designa'l conxuntu d'especies de plantes, animales y otros organismos qu'ocupen un área. Dizse, por casu, biota europea para referise a la llista d'especies qu'habiten nesti territoriu. La biota puede xebrase en flora y en fauna, según les llendes establecíes en botánica y en zooloxía.[1]

El conceutu puede estendese pa designar el repertoriu d'especies d'un compartimientu del ecosistema, como'l suelu, la rizosfera o'l fondu d'un ecosistema acuáticu.

Biota nun ye lo mesmo que biocenosis. La descripción de biota contién un repertoriu. La correspondiente biocenosis tien d'entender otros conceutos de la diversidá, relativos a organización y en riqueza específica. Pola mesma razón, nun tienen de considerase equivalentes les espresiones biosfera y biota terrestre.
