Cotinga cotinga ye una especie d'ave de la familia Cotingidae, que s'atopa en Brasil, Colombia, Guayana Francesa, Guyana, Perú, Surinam y Venezuela.[1]

Hábitat

Vive nel nivel cimeru y los cantos del monte tropical, incluyendo los de suelos arenosos, per debaxo de los 600 m d'altitú.[3] El machu emite un soníu finu coles ales cuando ta en vuelu.

    Descripción

    Mide de 18 a 19 cm de llargor. El machu presenta plumaxe azul cobaltu, con visos coritos alredor del güeyu y les ales; el gargüelu, el pechu y la metá cimera del viente son de color púrpura. La fema ye de color marrón, escuru nel envés y les ales y claro nel gargüelu y les partes inferiores, con un treme nel pechu y el banduyu que presenten puntos escuros arrodiaos de color claru, con apariencia d'escames.Hilty, Steven L.
