Tamién ye sede d'un xuegu de fútbol americanu universitariu ente los Florida Gators y los Georgia Bulldogs de la Southeastern Conference, según el TaxSlayer Bowl (enantes llamáu Gator Bowl), un partíu de bowl de post-temporada de fútbol americanu universitariu.
L'estadiu actual inaugurar en 1995 nel sitiu de l'antigua Gator Bowl Stadium.
Alcontráu nes cercaníes del Ríu St Johns, na so apertura, tenía una capacidá total de 73.000 espectadores, pero expansión na última década aumentaron a 76.867.
