Fromestanu (), foi un relixosu al que se-y atribúi, xunto col so tíu Máximu, la fundación de la ciudá asturiana d'Uviéu.
Fromestanu y Máximu decidieron fundar nel 761 a unos pocos quilómetros del asentamientu romanu de Lucus Asturum una ilesia n'honor a San Vicente a veres de la calzada romana que xunía Llión—Payares—Lugo de Llanera.[nota 1]
La ilesia cola llegada de dos docenes de monxos convirtióse nel monesteriu de San Vicente siendo'l so primer abá Fromestanu.
