Un llibru[1] (del llatín liber, libri, 'membrana' o 'corteya d'árbol') ye una obra impresa, manuscrita o pintada nuna serie de fueyes de papel, pergamín, vitela o otru material, xuníes per un sitiu (esto ye, encuadernaes) y protexíes con tapes, tamién denomaes cubiertes.

Según la definición de la Unesco (enllaz rotu disponible n'Internet Archive; ver l'historial y la última versión)., un llibru tien de tener 49 o más páxines (25 fueyes o más).

  • Dende cinco hasta 48 páxines sería un folletu (dende trés hasta 24 fueyes).
  • Dende una hasta cuatro páxines considérense fueyes sueltes (una o dos fueyes).

Tamién se llama "llibru" a una obra de gran estensión publicada en dellos llibros, llamaos "tomos" o "volúmenes". Otres vegaes tamién se denoma "llibru" a caúna de les partes d'una obra, anque físicamente se publiquen toes nun mesmu volume.
