Loganiaceae ye una familia de plantes fanerógames clasificada nel orde de Gentianales. La familia tien 13 xéneros, distribuyíos alredor de los trópicos.

Enantes la familia incluyía 29 xéneros. Apocayá dellos xéneros fueron treslladaos a otres families, como, Gentianaceae, Gelsemiaceae, Plocospermataceae, Tetrachondraceae, Buddlejaceae, y Gesneriaceae. El sistema de clasificación Takhtajan, estrema Loganiaceae en cuatro families; Strychnaceae, Antoniaceae, Spigeliaceae y Loganiaceae. Recién estudios d'ADN del orde Gentianales atoparon diverses pruebes de que contién 13 xéneros.

Descripción

Son árboles, arbustos, trepadores maderices; plantes hermafrodites. Fueyes opuestes o 4-ternaes, simples, enteres; estípules interpeciolares, dacuando solamente una llinia axustar. Flores actinomorfes o casi asina, en visos terminales o axilares, tirsos o cincinos; sépalos 4 ó 5, xuníos, xeneralmente namái na base; corola gamopétala, infundibuliforme o campanulada, llobos valvaos o inxeríos, 4, 5 ó 10; estames n'igual númberu que los llobos de la corola, insertos nel tubu de la corola, incluyíos o exertos; ovariu súperu o semiínfero, (1–) 2 (– 4)-locular; placentación axilar o parietal si l'ovariu ye 1-locular, estilu 1 (2 en Mitreola). Frutu una cápsula o baga; granes numberoses.[1]
