Carrera
Mark Patton empezó a actuar en 1982 na película Come back to the five and Dimmie, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean. En 1983 actuó na película Anna to the infinite power. Pero la película que la dio a conocer foi A Nightmare on Elm Street Part 2: Freddy's Revenge (1985) la cual protagonizó al llau de Kim Myers, Robert Rusler y Robert Englund. Dende 1995 dirixe producciones de Broadway.
Vida personal
Patton ye abiertamente homosexual. Cuando cumplió 40 años, recibió la noticia de ser portador del VIH, amás de sufrir neumonía, candidiasis y tuberculosis.
