Merops gularis [2] ye una especie d'ave coraciforme de la familia Meropidae qu'habita n'África Central y Occidental.
Descripción
Mide 20 cm de llargor. La mayoría del so plumaxe ye negru, con ceyes, banduyu y xaspiáu nel pechu color azul brillante; y el mentón, el gargüelu, la plumes primaries de les ales, el obispillo y les coberteres so la cola son de color coloráu.[3]
Subespecies
Rexistráronse dos subespecies:
- M. g. gularis - dende Sierra Lleona hasta'l sureste de Nixeria, tien la frente azul y una llista superciliar azul cobaltu brillosu.
- M. g. australis - dende'l sureste Nixeria al nordeste de la República Democrática d'El Congu y de sur a norte n'Angola, escarez de la franxa superciliar, tien la frente negra, con delles plumes azules, les rayes azules nel pechu y el banduyu, presenten dacuando puntes coloráu escarlata.[4]
Distribución
Alcuéntrase n'Angola, Camerún, Costa de Marfil, Gabón, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bisáu, Guinea Ecuatorial, Liberia, Nixeria, República Centroafricana, El Congu, República Democrática d'El Congu, Sierra Lleona, Togu y Uganda.[1]
