PETA, acrónimu de People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (n'asturianu Persones pol Tratu Éticu de los Animales) ye una organización que llucha polos derechos de los animales. Tien la so sede principal nos Estaos Xuníos y tien dos millones de socios.[1] PETA diz que ye'l mayor grupu pro derechos de los animales nel mundu.[2]

Historia

La organización fundóse en 1980 en Norfolk (Virxinia) (Estaos Xuníos). Tien 187 emplegaos y finánciase casi puramente polos sos asociaos.[2][3] Fora de los Estaos Xuníos tien oficines asociaes n'Alemaña, Canadá, España, Francia, India, Países Baxos, Reinu Xuníu, Sudáfrica, Suiza y Taiwán.[4]
