Skanda ye un grupu de música asturiana formáu en Mieres a finales de 1996. Un añu depués editen el so primer discu homónimu con la compañía Discos L'Aguañaz, cola que vuelven a trabayar en otros tres discos.
Sobre una base tradicional asturiana o del arcu atlánticu amesten ingredientes varios importaos de llonxanes tierres y diferentes cultures. Podríemos falar d'él como folk mestizu, folk industrial, folk de la cuenca minera, separao del conceutu rural qu'esti tipu de música siempre llevó asociao.
