The Chieftains son un grupu musical irlandés conocíos por facer y popularizar la música tradicional del so país.

El grupu grabó munchos álbumes de música tradicional irlandesa instrumental, asina como collaboraciones abondes con músicos populares de munchos xéneros como country o rock and roll. Ente estes collaboraciones destaquen músicos como Van Morrison, Mick Jagger, Elvis Costello, Roger Daltrey, Nancy Griffith, Tom Jones, Sinéad O'Connor, James Galway, The Corrs, Art Garfunkel, Sting o Carlos Núñez.

En 1975 el grupu algamó muncha sonadía pol so tema Women of Ireland dientro de la película Barry Lyndon de Stanley Kubrick. El grupu gano seis Premios Grammy, siendo nomáu dieciocho veces. Tamién ganaron un Óscar, un Emmy y un Genie. Les portaes de los primeros cuatro álbumes fueron diseñaes por Edward Delaney.
