Woking ye una ciudá inglesa nel Condáu de Surrey, asitiada nel sureste d'Inglaterra, a unes 25 milles (40,2 km), al suroeste de Londres. En 1995 la población rondaba los 90.000 habitantes.

A mediaos del sieglu XX yera una ciudá eminentemente industrial, pero adulces y a partir de los años 60 fuéronse revitalizando'l comerciu y los servicios na ciudá, coincidiendo col desenvolvimientu urbanísticu y poblacional.

Woking fíxose célebre porque l'escritor H. G. Wells, vivió ellí y ambientó nella l'empiezu de la so novela La Guerra de los Mundos a finales del sieglu XIX, cuando'l primer cilindru marcianu estrellar nes contornes de la población pa empecipiar dende esi puntu la terrorífica invasión. Son naturales de Woking el músicu Paul Weller y el restu de componentes del grupu de rock de finales de los años 70 y primeros 80 The Jam.

Esta ciudá ye famosa nel mundu del automovilismu d'altu nivel por ser sede del equipu de Fórmula 1 McLaren Renault, la segunda escudería más gallardoniada en fórmula 1.
