Anabledd yw cyflwr lle mae un o gyneddfau person yn sylweddol llai effethiol na'r cyffredin i unigolyn yn eu dosbarth. Gall gyfeirio at anabledd corfforol, er enghraifft anallu i gerdded, dallineb, byddardod ac eraill, neu anabledd meddyliol.
Gall unigolion gael eu geni gydag anabledd neu gallant gael anabledd ar unrhyw gyfnod o'u bywyd o ganlyniad i ddamwain, clefyd neu ddirywiad y corff.[1]
Ar 13 Rhagfyr 2006, cytunodd y Cenhedloedd Unedig ar Gytundeb Hawliau Pobl Anabl, cytundeb hawliau dynol cyntaf yr 21ain ganrif. Credir fod tua 650 miliwn o bobl anabl trwy'r byd. Bydd disgwyl i wledydd sy'n arwyddo'r cytundeb ofalu bod eu cyfreithiau yn sicrhau fod gan bobl anabl yr un mynediad at addysg, cyflogaeth a bywyd diwylliannol, yr hawl i berchenogi ac etifeddu eiddo a thriniaeth gydradd o ran priodas a phant.
