Mae'r Copog yn aderyn lliwgar iawn sy'n frodorol o Affrica-Ewrasia a adnabyddir yn hawdd gan ei goron o blu lliwgar. Dyma'r unig rywogaeth o fewn y teulu Upupidae. Roedd rhywogaeth arall yn bodoli, ond mae bellach wedi darfod: Copog Sant Helena. Mae'r Copog yn perthyn yn agos i deulu arall: Gopog y Coed (Phoeniculidae).
