Tref, porthladd a phlwyf sifil yng Nghaint, De-ddwyrain Lloegr, yw Dover[1] (neu Dofr). Fe'i lleolir yn ardal an-fetropolitan Dover.

Yng Nghyfrifiad 2011 roedd gan y plwyf sifil boblogaeth o 31,022[2] a chan yr ardal adeiledig Dover boblogaeth o 41,709.[3]

Mae'n enwog am ei chlogwyni gwyngalch – a wnaed yn enwog yn y gân "Bluebirds" gan Vera Lynn. Mae'r pellter byraf rhwng Prydain a Ffrainc rhwng Dover a Calais, pellter o tua 22 milltir, ac mae gwasanaeth fferi poblogaidd rhwng y ddwy borthladd. Yn Ffrangeg, gelwir y dref yn Douvres.

Mae Caerdydd 314.9 km i ffwrdd o Dover ac mae Llundain yn 107.7 km. Y ddinas agosaf ydy Caergaint sy'n 23.3 km i ffwrdd.

Dywedir fod y gair Saesneg Dover yn tarddu o'r hen Frythoneg "Dwfr" neu "ddŵr".

Afon Dour (River Dour) yw enw’r afon fach sy’n llifo trwy Dover ac yn aberu yno i’r môr.

Mae Dover un o'r Pum Porthladd (Cinque Ports).
