Canwr, cyfansoddwr, bardd, ysgrifennwr o'r Unol Daleithiau oedd James Douglas "Jim" Morrison (8 Rhagfyr 1943 – 3 Gorffennaf 1971). Roedd yn fwyaf adnabyddus fel prif leisydd y band The Doors a chaiff ei ystyried gan nifer fel un o gantorion mwyaf carismatig yn hanes cerddoriaeth roc.[1] . Roedd hefyd yn awdur ar sawl cyfrol o farddoniaeth ac yn gyfarwyddwr ffilm ddogfen a ffilm fer. Er fod Morrison yn enwog am ei lais bariton, mae nifer o'i gefnogwyr, ysgolheigion a newyddiadurwyr wedi cymharu ei bersonoliaeth llwyfan theatraidd, ei ffordd hunan-ddinistriol o fyw a'i waith i fywyd bardd. Ar restr y cylchgrawn Rolling Stone o'r "100 Canwr Gorau Erioed", cafodd ei roi ar safle 47.

Bu farw yn sydyn ym Mharis, yn 27 oed.[2]
