Mae'r Nico (Carduelis carduelis) yn perthyn i'r teulu Fringillidae. Mae'n aderyn cyffredin trwy'r rhan fwyaf o Ewrop ac Asia.

Nid yw'r Nico yn aderyn mudol yn y rhannau lle mae'r gaeafau'n weddol gynnes, ond mae adar o'r gogledd yn symud tua'r de a'r gorllewin yn y gaeaf. Mae'n aderyn gweddol fychan, 12-13.5 cm o hyd ac yn pwyso rhwng 16 a 22 gram. Nid oes gwahaniaeth rhwng y ddau ryw; mae gan y ddau wyneb coch, du a gwyn ar y gweddill o'r pen, brown ar y cefn a gwyn ar y bol, gydag adenydd du a melyn.

Hadau yw eu brif fwyd, yn enwedig hadau bychain, er enghraifft hadau ysgall, ond maent hefyd yn dal pryfed i fwydo'r cywion. Maent yn nythu mewn coed gweddol uchel ac yn dodwy o 4 i 6 ŵy. Yn y gaeaf maent yn aml yn ymgasglu'n heidiau, weithiau gyda llinosiaid eraill. Mae'r Nico yn aderyn cyffredin ac adnabyddus yng Nghymru.
