Hen ddinas yn perthyn i'r gwareiddiad Maya ym Mecsico yw Palenque. Saif ger afon Usumacinta yn nhalaith Chiapas, tua 130 km o'r de o ddinas Ciudad del Carmen.
Roedd y ddinas yn ganolfan bwysig o'r 5g hyd y 9g. Adeiladwyd yr adeiladau cynharaf sydd i'w gweld heddiw tua 600. Roedd yn anghyfannedd ymhell cyn i'r Sbaenwyr gyrraedd yr ardal. Ei brenin enwocaf oedd Pacal Fawr, a deyrnasai o 615 hyd 683. Dynodwyd Palenque yn Safle Treftadaeth y Byd gan UNESCO yn 1987.
