Rapio
Cyflwyno odlau, chwarae ar eiriau a barddoniaeth rhythmig ar lafar ydy rapio. Rapio ydy prif elfen cerddoriaeth hip hop, er bod tarddiad rapio yn mynd yn ôl ganrifoedd, ymhellach cyn diwylliant hip hop. Gellir cyflwyno rap i guriad neu'n ddi-gyfeiliant. Defnyddir y term i ddisgrifio geiriau cyflym ar lafar sy'n mynd yn ôl i cyn y ffurf cerddorol, a'i ystyr gwreiddiol oedd "i daro". Defnyddiwyd y term yn Saesneg ers yr 16g, a golygai "i ddweud" rhywbeth ers y 18g. Roedd yn rhan o dafodiaith Affricanaidd-Americanaidd yn y 1960au i olygu "i sgwrsio", ac yn fuan wedi hyn defnyddiwyd y term yn ei ystyr presennol i ddynodi'r arddull cerddorol. Erbyn heddiw, cysylltir y termau "rap" a "rapio" gyda cherddoriaeth hip hop.
