Ynys yn perthyn i Wlad Groeg yw Samos (Groeg: Σάμος). Un o'r Ynysoedd Gogledd Aegeaidd, saif yn rhan ogleddol Môr Aegaea, i'r de o ynys Chios, i'r gogledd o Patmos a'r Dodecanese, ac oddi ar arfordir gorllewinol Twrci.
Mae gan yr ynys arwynebedd o 478 km2; 43 km o hyd a 13 km o led. Fe'i gwahenir oddi wrth arfordir Twrci gan gulfor tua milltir o led. Ynys fynyddig ydyw, gyda'r copa uchaf, Vigla, yn 1,434 medr o uchder, ond mae hefyd yn ynys ffrwythlon iawn. Tyfir gwinwydd, ac mae ei gwin yn nodedig, ond twristiaeth yw'r prif ddiwydiant bellach. Poblogaeth yr ynys yw 33,814, a'r brifddinas yw dinas Samos.
