At the time of the 2006 National Census, the city's population was 3,158 in 807 households, when it was in the former Sarchehan District of Bavanat County.[6] The following census in 2011 counted 3,912 people in 1,027 households.[7] The 2016 census measured the population of the city as 3,954 people in 1,259 households.[2]
After the census, the district was separated from the county in the establishment of Sarchehan County, and Korehi was transferred to the new Central District as the county's capital.[4] After formation of the county, its capital was transferred from Korehi to Hesami.[5]
