At the time of the 2006 National Census, the county's population was 37,591 in 10,119 households.[4] The following census in 2011 counted 39,487 people in 11,164 households.[5] At the 2016 census, the county's population was 40,959 in 12,011 households.[2]
After the census, the village of Doreh was elevated to the status of a city.[6]
