Could this template be turned into a navbox at the bottom of the page or collapsed by default? We have a separate navbox, but there is a reason to have sidebars for prominent topics to provide the simplest high level navigation for topics, whereas bottom of page navboxes contain more detailed topics often.
So many articles will have a sidebar for simple navigation, and additionally a bottom navbox for further detailed subarticles as explained at WP:NAV. I see it was removed when I was trying to navigate to the Kennedy campaign article. I was wondering if it would be better to keep Kennedy's campaign article link on there? It was a notable independent run despite him no longer running now. He'll still be on the ballot in most of the country and it was indeed notable. I'm restoring it.
