I came across this award reviewing a draft and it appears to be a notable award mentioned in several articles. Thought you might be interested in creating an article. Hm, it has an entry in 8 language wikis. Definitely seems worth investigating, thanks! Recent changes
Editors will notice that there have been some changes to the background color of text in the diff view, and the color of the byte-change numbers, last week. These changes are intended to make text more readable in both light mode and dark mode, and are part of a larger effort to increase accessibility. You can share your comments or questions on the project talkpage. [1]
The text colors that are used for visited-links, hovered-links, and active-links, were also slightly changed last week to improve their accessibility in both light mode and dark mode. [2]
Problems
You can copy permanent links to talk page comments by clicking on a comment's timestamp. This feature did not always work when the topic title was very long and the link was used as a wikitext link. This has been fixed. Thanks to Lofhi for submitting the bug. [3]
Changes later this week
The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 25 June. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 26 June. It will be on all wikis from 27 June (calendar). [4][5]
Starting 26 June, all talk pages messages' timestamps will become a link at English Wikipedia, making this feature available for you to use at all wikis. This link is a permanent link to the comment. It allows users to find the comment they were linked to, even if this comment has since been moved elsewhere. You can read more about this feature on Diff or on Mediawiki.org. [6]

On 26 June 2024, In the news was updated with an item that involved the article Russell Morash, which you updated. If you know of another recently created or updated article suitable for inclusion in ITN, please suggest it on the candidates page. I wonder if you would express an opinion on whether I am free to make some edits on a subject. There is an open complaint against me at [7]. It seems the comments seem to split between (a) "both sides need to step back and (b) sort this out one article at a time" and the original complainant having some level of fault. (Difficult for me to give a fair summary, of course.) I don't detect any admin making any comment on the matter.
I have sought the advice of an experienced editor on one of the subjects at [8]. The advice (paraphrasing) is that I should go ahead and make the edits that I feel fairly represent the sources. Is that something that I should do with the ANI matter still open?
The original complainant seems to have ceased to be active on Wikipedia. It is anyone's guess when they will come back. (They could be reading this now.)
As it happens, I will be away for two days from tomorrow, so already have little time for anything other than the briefest editing until I am back. But I need to understand if rules, custom etc. allow me to address some of the deficiencies that I perceive to be the outcome of the original complainant's editing. In the first instance, this would probably be clarifying what we know about Austronesian involvement in the translocation of the banana to Africa.

Jeez, that wall of text and all the diffs...I'm not going to try to speak to whether you're "free to". Certainly you aren't forbidden from doing so. But I'd certainly recommend in general staying out of the subject articles until an ANI is resolved. Thanks. It’s all heated up again so I will leave alone for a while once I have finished the trip I am on. How do these things get closed off eventually? A number of ways. Someone may assess consensus at ANI for a community action, someone may take individual action, or sometimes discussions get archived unactioned. Valereee (talk) 21:05, 28 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"20240628210500","author":"Valereee","type":"comment","level":4,"id":"c-Valereee-20240628210500-ThoughtIdRetired-20240627170100","replies":["c-ThoughtIdRetired-20240629075800-Valereee-20240628210500"]}}-->
Thanks. I am steadily learning more about this issue. It seems we have an editor who, deliberately or accidentally, erroneously takes their own POV from sources. The result is Wikipedia articles that do not represent the academic consensus. I have even gone so far as to contact a prominent author of papers on one subject to confirm my understanding (just to check it isn't me that's wrong). The answer did confirm my take from the literature – perhaps in stronger terms than I would have used. The catch is that an uninvolved editor would need to do several days' reading to discover that. So I don't see a minority subject in Wikipedia getting this resolved easily – we do not seem to have the mechanisms to deal with this type of article content issue. Unless I am missing something about how Wikipedia works... The third round of the 2024 WikiCup ended on 28 June. As with Round 2, this round was competitive: each of the 16 contestants who advanced to Round 4 scored at least 256 points.
The following editors all scored more than 400 points in Round 3:
Sammi Brie (submissions) with 557 points, mostly from 1 featured article on KNXV-TV, 5 good articles, and 8 did you know nominations; and
AryKun (submissions) with 415 points, mostly from 1 featured article on Great cuckoo-dove, with a high number of bonus points from that article.
The full scores for round 3 can be seen here. So far this year, competitors have gotten 28 featured articles, 38 featured lists, 240 good articles, 92 in the news credits, and at least 285 did you know credits. They have conducted 279 featured article reviews, as well as 492 good article reviews and peer reviews, and have added 22 articles to featured topics and good topics.
Remember that any content promoted after 28 June but before the start of Round 4 can be claimed during Round 4, which starts on 1 July at 00:00 (UTC). Invitations for collaborative writing efforts or any other discussion of potentially interesting work is always welcome on the WikiCup talk page. Remember, if two or more WikiCup competitors have done significant work on an article, all can claim points. If you are concerned that your nomination—whether for a good article, featured content, or anything else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed.
