გრამფირფიტის ფორმატის EP

Extended play (EP) ან მინიონი (ფრანგ. mignon — პატარა) — ტერმინი, რომლითაც ძირითადად მოიხსენიებენ გრამფირფიტას ან CD-ს, რომელიც ერთ სინგლზე მეტს შეიცავს, თუმცა ალბომისთვის ზედმეტად პატარაა. ჩვეულებრივ, ალბომში რვა ან მეტი სიმღერაა (25-80 წუთის ხანგრძლივობით), სინგლი ერთიდან სამ სიმღერამდე შეიცავს (10 წუთამდე ხანგრძლივობით),ხოლო EP – ოთხიდან შვიდ სიმღერამდე (10-25 წუთი).[1][2]

სხვადასხვა დროს EP სხვადასხვა ზომის გამოიცემოდა. 1950-იან და 1960-იან წლებში, EP ჩვეულებრივ 7" (18 სმ) დისკებზე გამოდიოდა 45 RPM-ით და ერთი სიმღერით თითო მხარეს. ფორმატმა პოპულარობა ელვის პრესლის აღმასვლასთან ერთად მოიპოვა და ხანდახან ირონიულად აღინიშნება, რომ EP მისი ინიციალებია.
