- Tiberius Julius Caesar sticht de stad Vasio Vocontiorum in Gallië. Het leefgebied van de Gallische stam de Vasii; de Romeinen bouwen een amfitheater, tempels, thermen en aquaducten. Het wordt een van de eerste steden in de streek die het christendom aanneemt.
