De bergsolitaire (Myadestes townsendi) is een zangvogel uit de familie Turdidae (lijsters). De vogel is genoemd naar de Amerikaanse zoöloog John Kirk Townsend.

Verspreiding en leefgebied

Deze soort komt in Noord-Amerika van Alaska tot Mexico en telt twee ondersoorten:[2]

  • M. t. townsendi: van oostelijk Alaska tot de westelijke Verenigde Staten.
  • M. t. calophonus: noordelijk en centraal Mexico.

Status

De grootte van de populatie is in 2019 geschat op 1,1 miljoen volwassen vogels. Op de Rode lijst van de IUCN heeft deze soort de status niet bedreigd.[1]
