Conilurus is een geslacht van knaagdieren uit de muizen en ratten van de Oude Wereld dat voorkomt in het noorden van Australië en het zuiden van Nieuw-Guinea. In het zuidoosten van Australië is het geslacht uitgestorven. Conilurus is waarschijnlijk het nauwste verwant aan Mesembriomys, die ook in bomen leeft.
Kenmerken
Soorten van dit geslacht hebben een grijsbruine rug een witte buik. De kop-romplengte bedraagt 150 tot 260 mm, de staartlengte 180 tot 240 mm, de achtervoetlengte 40 tot 55 mm, de oorlengte 25 tot 30 mm en het gewicht 110 tot 190 gram. Vrouwtjes hebben 0+2=4 mammae.
