Creative Cities Network
Het Creative Cities Network (UCN) is een programma UNESCO dat sinds 2004 actief is. Het doel is om samenwerking op het gebied van cultuur en creativiteit te bevorderen. Er zijn acht categoriën waarbinnen een stad erkend kan worden, mits het zich inzet en investeert in creativiteit, als drijfveer voor duurzame stedelijke ontwikkeling, sociale inclusie en culturele levendigheid.
Een stad kan erkend worden onder de volgende acht categorieën:[1]
- Stad van ambachten en volkskunst
- Architectuurstad (sinds 2025)
- Designstad (o.a. Kortrijk)
- Filmstad
- Gastronomiestad
- Literatuurstad (o.a. Leeuwarden & Utrecht)
- Stad van mediakunst (o.a. Namen)
- Muziekstad (o.a. Gent & Luik)
