De Cryptoclidia[1] zijn een groep uitgestorven zeereptielen, behorend tot de Plesiosauria, die leefde tijdens het Mesozoïcum.
In 2010 wezen Hilary Ketchum en Roger Benson erop dat het eerdere begrip Cryptoclidoidea overlapte met een andere superfamilie. Ze benoemden daarom de rangloze klade Cryptoclidia als de groep bestaande uit de laatste gemeenschappelijke voorouder van Cryptoclidus eurymerus en Polycotylus latipinnis; en al zijn afstammelingen.
De Cryptoclidia omvatten volgens de oorspronkelijke analyse uit 2010 enkele basale vormen waaronder Cryptoclidus zelf en verder de Leptocleidia. In 2013 had een analyse tot resultaat dat ook de Elasmosauridae Criptoclidia waren, wat een extra knooppunt noodzakelijk maakte: de Xenopsaria. De groep ontstond vermoedelijk in het middelste Jura en stierf uit op het eind van het Krijt, zesenzestig miljoen jaar geleden.
