Delict

Delict heeft in het recht verschillende betekenissen, afhankelijk van het rechtsstelsel, de samenleving en de periode waarover men spreekt. In het Belgisch en Nederlands strafrecht is een delict een licht strafbaar feit, of overtreding.[bron?] Maar ook overtreding van de milieuwet- en regelgeving, of van de arbeidsomstandigheden-wet geldt als een delict. Een milieudelict kan een economisch misdrijf zijn.[1]

In het Romeins recht was een delict een rechtshandeling die tegen de gemaakte afspraken inging, of tegen algemene regels en verplichtingen uit het civiele recht.[2] De schadevergoeding van de dader aan de benadeelde kon bestaan uit een te voldoen geldbedrag, het herstellen van de schade, of zelfs het toebrengen aan de dader van dezelfde schade (oog om oog, tand om tand).
