De Dunker is een hondenras dat afkomstig is uit Noorwegen. Het is een speur- en jachthond. Een volwassen reu is ongeveer 53 cm hoog, een volwassen teef ongeveer 50 cm.
De Dunker is ontstaan rond de 19e eeuw en is vernoemd naar een mens: Wilhelm Dunker.
De Dunker is zeer zeldzaam, ook binnen zijn moederland. Het is een rustige huishond en heel trouw aan zijn baas. De kleur is meestal wit met zwart/grijs/grijsbruin/bruin/merle. De ogen kunnen blauw zijn. De Dunker kan zich snel aanpassen aan verschillende klimaten en woningen.
De Dunker is zeer goed met kinderen als hij goed gesocialiseerd is. Ook met honden gaat het goed. Met mensen een beetje terughoudend maar met goede socialisatie gaat dat ook goed.
