Dynamix, Inc. was een Amerikaanse ontwikkelaar van computerspellen tussen 1984 en 2001. Het bedrijf werd bekend met vluchtsimulators, puzzelspellen en avonturenspellen.
Geschiedenis
Dynamix inc werd opgestart in 1984 door Jeff Tunnell en Damon Llye. De hoofdzetel was in het Amerikaanse Eugene in de deelstaat Oregon. Het duo had al eerder een spel ontwikkeld Stellar 7 en brachten dit met oprichting van het bedrijf opnieuw uit onder het Dynamix-label. Dynamix bracht in de beginperiode voornamelijk spellen uit voor Commodore 64 waaronder Stellar 7 en Project Firestart.
In de daaropvolgende jaren deed Dynamix beroep op de distributiedienst van Electronic Arts en werden er voornamelijk spellen gemaakt voor Commodore Amiga zoals Arcticfox. Daarna werden de spellen gedistribueerd via Activision om dit uiteindelijk in eigen handen te nemen. In 1990 werd Dynamix overgekocht door Sierra On-Line. Onder dit beheer bracht Dynamix hun meest bekende spellen uit: Red Baron, The Adventures of Willy Beamish, The Incredible Machine-spelreeks, Sid & Al's Incredible Toons, de Front Page Sports-reeks en Betrayal at Krondor.
In 1994 kwam het eerste spel uit de MetalTech-reeks op de markt, die nog twee spin-offs kreeg: de Earthsiege-reeks en Starsiege-reeks. Uit dit laatste kwam nog een spin-off: de Tribes-serie. Dynamix ontwierp ook Outpost 2: Divided Destiny en Space Quest V: The Next Mutation.
Dynamix werd door Sierra Entertainment opgedoekt op 14 augustus 2001 naar aanleiding van een herstructurering die leidde tot Vivendi Universal Games.
