Alice Van Eesbeeck (Perwijs, 21 juli 1996), beter bekend als Essyla, is een Belgische zangeres.
Biografie
Van Eesbeeck werd geboren uit een Vlaamse vader en een Waalse moeder. Haar ouders zijn gescheiden en Essyla groeide grotendeels op bij haar moeder.
Essyla startte haar muzikale carrière in 2020 door haar deelname aan de talentenjacht The Voice Belgique. Ze wist de finale te halen en eindigde daarin als tweede achter Jérémie Makiese.
In 2023 bracht Essyla haar eerste singles uit getiteld Let You Go en Not My Kind of Dude. Later dat jaar volgde een eerste album, I'll Be Okay.
In februari 2026 werd ze door de RTBF intern geselecteerd om haar vaderland te vertegenwoordigen op het Eurovisiesongfestival 2026 in de Oostenrijkse hoofdstad Wenen. Daar trad ze op 12 mei in de eerste halve finale aan met het nummer Dancing on the Ice.[1] Ze wist zich te plaatsen voor de finale op 16 mei.
In 2019 nam ze reeds deel aan een Eurovisie-competitie, toen ze met het koor Almakalia deelnam aan Eurovision Choir, een inmiddels afgeschafte wedstrijd waarin gezocht werd naar het beste amateurkoor. Ze was eveneens jurylid in de Belgische vakjury voor het Eurovisiesongfestival 2024.
