Florence Blossom Fox (Woodside, 26 september 1945 – New York, 2 maart 2025) was een Amerikaanse straatfotograaf.
Biografie
Op 30-jarige leeftijd werd bij haar multiple sclerose vastgesteld. Fox bleef echter, ondanks haar volledige verlamming, als fotograaf werken. Ze liet zich fotograferen door verzorgers, vrienden en vreemden met een autofocuscamera.
Begin jaren tachtig presenteerde ze haar eigen programma, de Foto Flo Show, waarin ze andere fotografen zoals Ruth Orkin en Ralph Gibson interviewde over hun werk en creatieve methoden.
Riley Hooper maakte een korte documentaire, Flo, die in 2013 in The New York Times verscheen.
Erkentelijkheid
- Werk van haar maakte deel uit van de permanente collectie van het Brooklyn Museum en het Smithsonian-instituut
- Werk van haar was te zien in Life Magazine en New York Magazine en op tentoonstellingen in Parijs, Londen, Barcelona en Mexico
