Graphiurus ocularis is een Zuid-Afrikaans zoogdier uit de familie van de slaapmuizen (Gliridae). De wetenschappelijke naam van de soort werd voor het eerst geldig gepubliceerd door de Schotse bioloog Andrew Smith in 1829.
Leefgebied
Het kleine knaagdier komt van nature voor in Zuid-Afrika, waar het in het Afrikaans bekend staat als de gemsbokmuis[2] of namtap.[3] Het leefgebied omvat de Zuid-Afrikaanse provincies Oost-Kaap, Noord-Kaap en West-Kaap.[4][5][6][7] De soort leeft in de zandsteenformaties van de Kaap, die vele verticale en horizontale scheuren en spleetjes bieden waarin ze kunnen schuilen en nestelen.[3]
