Halton is een unitary authority en een district in de Engelse regio North West England en telt 128.000 inwoners. De oppervlakte bedraagt 79 km².
Halton zelf is een kleine plaats die in dit bestuurlijk district ligt, en is onderdeel van de stad Runcorn.
Demografie
Van de bevolking is 13,5% ouder dan 65 jaar. De werkloosheid bedraagt 4,5% van de beroepsbevolking (cijfers volkstelling 2001).
Het aantal inwoners daalde van ongeveer 124.800 in 1991 naar 118.208 in 2001.
