Handewitt (Deens: Hanved) is een gemeente in de Duitse deelstaat Sleeswijk-Holstein, en maakt deel uit van de Kreis Sleeswijk-Flensburg. Handewitt telt 11.150 inwoners.[1]
Handewitt ligt dichtbij Flensburg. Het grenst aan die stad en verder in het noordoosten aan Harrislee. Enkele van de Ortsteile van Handewitt hebben het karakter van voorstadjes van Flensburg.
De huidige gemeente Handewitt ontstond per 1 maart 2008 uit de fusie van de voormalige gemeente Handewitt met de toenmalige gemeente Jarplund-Weding. Tot die fusie vormden beide gemeenten samen het toenmalige Amt Handewitt. De nieuwe gemeente is Amtvrij.
De plaats is internationaal bekend vanwege de sterke handbalclub SG Flensburg-Handewitt.
